Meet the Authorised Rep Compliance team

ARC PCS team 2024

About the Team

Authorised Rep Compliance opened its doors in 2020. Sarah, Pete and Jared had worked together for many years in a product compliance consultancy assisting manufacturers to comply with product safety legislation. Their knowledge of product compliance and its technical documentation meant they were ideally placed to meet the increased demand for Authorised Representatives due to BREXIT and tightening EU product rules.

Offices in Dublin, Ireland and Lancaster, UK serve the EU and Great Britain markets.

Jared Heathcote

Jared studied mechanical engineering at Derby university. After completion he went to train as a draughtsman at European Gas Turbines in Lincoln (now Siemens Energy).

Next stop was with a long established, commercial catering and sanitary ware manufacturer in Derbyshire, W&G Sissons Ltd. At Sissons he had many roles during 15 years service, including product design, production engineering, sales, marketing and senior management. Sissons was taken over by a Swiss company (Franke) which enabled Jared to gain experience in Europe and further afield.

In 2013 he joined Conformance Ltd, a CE Marking Consultancy, as a Consultant specialising in the recently implemented Construction Products Regulation eventually moving into the role of Commercial manager due to his experience in this field. At the later end of 2021 Jared joined former colleagues at their existing company, Authorised Rep Compliance Ltd, and together with them set up Product Compliance Support Ltd.

He likes to spend his spare time getting out into the countryside and also rebuilding and driving classic American vehicles.

Pete Hall

Pete gained a masters degree in mechanical engineering and management from Birmingham University. He went on to gain a post graduate certificate in design manufacture and management from Cambridge University. Pete started his career with GKN Automotive as process development engineer. He spent the next 10 years in a wide range of manufacturing environments including automotive, plastics, minerals and defence specialising in product safety and compliance.

Pete has worked as a compliance consultant for over 20 years, specialising in large industrial equipment such as machinery, process and energy plant, pressure equipment and equipment for explosive atmospheres.

He speaks five languages and has travelled widely in the course of his work and leisure activities. Pete is a keen caver, walker and cyclist, and lives in Lancaster with his family and numerous pets.

Alex Leyland

I am a certified TÜV Functional Safety Engineer (TÜV Rhineland) specialising in Machinery.

I have over 20 years of experience in the machinery automation and safety sector and held TÜV Functional safety Engineer status for over 10 years.

The earlier part of my career was spent in the field as a product specialist for leading brands of machinery safety equipment. This has exposed me to thousands of machines in plants across all industries.

In more recent years I focused my efforts on consulting with machine builders and system integrators across many industries to risk assess machinery and provide specification, design, and validation of safety systems.

I advise also on wider CE/UKCA marking requirements for suppliers of machinery and able to deliver machinery safety training.

I have a passion for simplifying complex machine safety issues and helping clients finding compliant but pragmatic solutions.

Sarah Hall

Sarah completed a degree in Business studies at Kingston university. Her first job was with National Vocational Qualifications in London. On a vocational sabbatical to India, she discovered a love of teaching and spent the next 20 years teaching children with emotional and behavioural special needs. The local authority asked her to set up and manage a centre for pupils for whom mainstream education was not an option.

Eight years ago, Sarah had a complete career change and began to use her management skills for a compliance engineering company. She has since set up and successfully run an authorised representative company. She has joined Pete and Jared to set up Product Compliance Support Ltd as a sister company to Authorised Rep Compliance.

Sarah lives in Lancaster with her family, she loves walking the dogs, tennis and performing in a samba band, Batala.
