The UK Government recently announced that it will continue to recognise the CE product marking in Great Britain for a further 2 years, allowing business to use either UKCA or CE markings.
The new deadline to have the UKCA mark in place by 1st January 2023 has been extended for a further two years until 1st January 2025.
This new legislation will be introduced to support manufacturers who were struggling to meet the previous deadline and will give some extra breathing space.
Please note this extension does not affect the requirement for, or responsibilities of, a UK Authorised Representative.
Since 1st January 2021 all non-UK manufacturers must have a representative established in
the UK in order to comply with current product legislation. Please see our FAQ’s for further advice on this.
From 1st January 2025 products will need to have a UKCA label. However, until 31 December 2027, this can be a temporary UKCA marking label on the product or accompanying documentation. From 1st January 2028 all products must be permanently marked with the UKCA logo in accordance with legislation.
